Earlier this year, I developed Olive Tree Interactive as a DBA concept focused on providing web design services for churches and ministries. The goal was to create a visual identity that communicated professionalism while subtly reflecting the company’s intended audience without relying on overly familiar church imagery.
My design goals were as follows:
- Warm
- Welcoming
- Dependable
- Professional
- Ministry-focused
- Clean and modern
Throughout Scripture, the olive tree represents peace, endurance, blessing, and spiritual life. Rather than creating a literal illustration, I wanted the logo to suggest these qualities through a clean, contemporary mark that could stand comfortably alongside modern technology brands. After several hours of design work, I created the Olive Tree mark and full text that I used in various locations throughout the design.

Looking Ahead
Although Olive Tree Interactive ultimately remained a concept, the project became an enjoyable opportunity to combine my passion for branding, web design, and ministry. It challenged me to think beyond creating a logo and instead develop a cohesive visual identity that could support an entire business—from its website and marketing materials to its digital presence.
Projects like this remind me that good design is ultimately about serving people. Whether building a brand for a business, nonprofit, or church, the goal is always the same: create something that communicates clearly, earns trust, and helps organizations connect with the people they serve.
