Overview
While at Go Fish Digital, I created an interactive choropleth map for Yonkers Honda Dealership designed to visualize speeding ticket trends across the United States. The project aimed to engage users through a data-driven storytelling experience, providing insights into how speeding violations varied by state and how those trends evolved over time.
My Role
As the lead developer on the project’s front-end data visualization component, I was responsible for:
- Designing and implementing a dynamic U.S. map using Mapbox.js and GeoJSON data sources.
- Integrating interactive state-level pop-ups displaying key metrics including:
- Speeding Tickets Issued (2011–2017)
- Tickets Issued Per 10K Citizens
- National Average Comparisons
- Raw and Percentage Change Over Time
- Ensuring cross-browser compatibility, responsive layout design, and performance optimization for smooth interactions.
- Collaborating with data analysts and designers to transform complex datasets into accessible, visual insights.
